For Spring 2027, Sergio Hudson approached his collection with a reversal of the traditional James Bond dynamic, imagining the woman as the agent rather than the woman alongside him. That inspiration immediately made sense to me when looking through the collection. It’s bold and sophisticated, with strong tailoring and structured lines, but there’s also a daring side that comes through in the plunging necklines, cutouts, hot pants and high-thigh slits.
A James Bond-Esque Take on Glamour
The headscarves were one of the details that really brought the inspiration together for me. There’s something almost James Bond-esque about the way they’re styled. They add glamour to the collection, but they also bring a sense of mystery that fits Hudson’s idea of the woman stepping into the role of the agent.
Strong Tailoring Meets Playfulness
The strong tailoring was one of the first things that caught my attention. But Hudson balances those more structured pieces with softer, flowier looks throughout the collection. There’s a playfulness that comes through in the color and movement of the fabrics, keeping the collection from feeling too serious despite the strength of the tailoring. Lace also makes an appearance, adding another softer element against some of the collection’s more structured pieces.
Tiger Stripes Take Over
Animal print returns this season, too. Hudson incorporated zebra print into his previous spring collection, but this time he turns to tiger stripes. What stood out to me was how differently he used the print. The tiger stripes feel more functional and less dramatic this time around, appearing on pieces like cardigans, hot pants and midi dresses.
A Versace Throwback in Look 75
Look 75 was easily one of my favorite moments. The combination of magenta and vivid violet is beautiful, but the dress also immediately took me back to Zendaya’s 2021 BET Awards look, when she wore an archival Versace dress as a nod to the Versace look Beyoncé wore to the 2003 BET Awards. Between the color combination and dramatic cutouts, Hudson’s dress almost feels like a reimagining of that look for 2027.
The Looks I Could See on the Red Carpet
Looks 5 and 77 were two of my other favorites from the collection. Both immediately stood out as looks I could see making their way onto the red carpet. Along with Look 75, they were the pieces I kept coming back to while looking through the collection.

That balance is what stands out to me most about Sergio Hudson’s Spring 2027 collection. The strength of the tailoring is met with movement, color and playfulness, while the more glamorous details bring Hudson’s female-agent inspiration to life. It’s a collection that feels polished without playing it safe.
