The Blog

The Loewe Puzzle Bag was the trendy IT bag of 2024. With its distinctive geometric lines and cuboid form, it’s no surprise that everyone wanted one. It was an interesting shape that we hadn’t really seen before with an architectural silhouette.

Crafted in nappa calfskin or lambskin, the bag retails for $3,850 to $4,450. Now, for the average person, that might be a little out of reach.

And in my search for an alternative (if you know what I mean), I found one of the best — for a fraction of the price.

Enter the Italian Leather Patchwork Crossbody from Quince.

Crafted from the finest Italian leather, this distinctive bag seamlessly blends bold design with exceptional quality. With just the right amount of space for your essentials, it’s the perfect accessory for both an everyday look and a more refined evening vibe.

The Italian Leather Patchwork Crossbody is the epitome of sophisticated elegance and timeless allure — without the luxury price tag.

Sometimes in life, you’re hit with those moments where you think, I can’t believe my luck. That’s exactly how I felt when I came across this dupe of the Polène Cyme Bag. It’s affordable, beautiful, and even comes in colors the original doesn’t offer.

I’m especially in love with the Charles & Keith version in espresso brown. The trapeze shape and belt-knot detailing make it such a standout. It comes pretty close to the original, though the Anthropologie version is a bit more precise—especially in the stitching.

What do you think? Would you make a purchase?

When I first see a bag, I’m mesmerized by its design, structure, shape and overall aesthetic — not the name on the label. The designer matters less than the creativity behind the piece. Buying a handbag is a statement: it says I love design and I appreciate artistry.

That’s why I fell for the Polène Numéro Neuf Mini — its cute, dumpling-like silhouette is fresh and striking. It’s been an it bag since it launched, but the price hasn’t really been a hit. So I began my search for an affordable alternative. Like many people hunting for a dupe (myself included), I found one on the Quince site.

The Quince Italian Leather Trapeze Crossbody gives you those high-end, luxury feels at a friendly, approachable price. Made from 100% top-grain Italian leather, the trapeze shape adds a modern twist to a classic design. A magnetic snap closure keeps everything secure, and the convertible, adjustable strap lets you wear it as a shoulder bag or crossbody depending on the look.

What’s also impressive is the care behind how it’s made. The bag is produced in Sedex-certified factories, which focus on improving working conditions across the supply chain. The leather is tanned in a Leather Working Group (LWG) certified tannery, meaning the leather supplier follows sustainable practices — from reduced water and energy use to responsible waste management and limiting restricted substances. The Quince Trapeze Crossbody is produced in Dongguan, China and the Philippines, and it manages to balance thoughtful craftsmanship with an accessible price point.

If you want the Polène look without the heavy price tag, the Quince Italian Leather Trapeze Crossbody is one of the best dupes I’ve found. It keeps the creativity and sculptural shape I love while being more budget-friendly — proof you can celebrate design and artistry without overspending.

I was deep in the interwebs, on a mission to find another double-breasted winter coat to add to my collection, when I stumbled upon an unexpected gem—a Polène dupe. Specifically, a Neuf Mini lookalike. Somehow, my search led me down the rabbit hole to Quince, a brand that has quickly become one of my favorites for luxury at an accessible price.

The Polène Neuf Mini: A Modern Classic

For those unfamiliar, Polène is a Parisian brand known for its sculptural, minimalist handbags that exude quiet luxury. Their designs often feature soft, structured silhouettes with high-quality leather, making them a favorite among those who appreciate understated elegance. The Neuf Mini, in particular, is a standout piece—its distinctive folds and curved structure make it a work of art in handbag form. Priced at around $500, it’s a relatively attainable luxury bag compared to designer giants, but still an investment piece. While I love the aesthetic, I couldn’t justify dropping that much on a mini bag that barely fits more than a lipstick and my phone.

Quince: Luxury Without the Markup

That’s where Quince comes in. If you haven’t heard of them yet, Quince is a direct-to-consumer brand that cuts out the middleman to deliver high-quality, luxury-grade goods at a fraction of the cost. Their claim to fame? Their products are made in the same factories that manufacture for high-end fashion houses like Celine, Dior, Prada, and Bottega Veneta—without the steep designer markup. Transparency, affordability, and sustainable production are at the core of their mission, making luxury more accessible to the everyday consumer. From cashmere sweaters to leather bags, Quince offers timeless, well-crafted pieces without the luxury tax.

Why I’m Opting for the Dupe

I’m genuinely excited to get my hands on this Neuf Mini dupe. Why pay $500 when I can snag a near-identical version for a fraction of the price? While I appreciate a good investment piece, I can’t stomach dropping serious cash on a tiny bag that barely holds my essentials. Maybe one day in the future, but for now, I’d rather put my money toward big, functional bags that actually serve a purpose.

One of the biggest advantages of buying a dupe is that you get to experiment before committing to the real thing. I’ve done this before with the Polène Cyme bag—I picked up a dupe from Amazon to test out the style, and while I loved its sculptural design, I ultimately returned it because it was way too big for my needs. But that trial run helped me realize I’d love a smaller version in the future. The same goes for the Neuf Mini—if I end up loving the style, maybe I’ll consider investing in the real thing one day. But for now, I’m more than happy with Quince’s affordable alternative.

If you’re looking to get your hands on this budget-friendly alternative, you can check it out here and snag luxury for less! The Italian Leather Trapeze Crossbody gives a high-end luxury feels but at a friendly and approachable price. This bag features a unique trapeze shape that adds a modern twist to a classic design. If you’re a fashion lover with a keen eye on social media trends, you’ve probably seen the ‘It Girl’ bag that took social media by storm: the Polène Cyme. Beloved by influencers and spotted all over Instagram, this sculptural tote became an instant icon following Polène’s 2022 Soho store launch in NYC. Naturally, I also wanted to add the Cyme to my collection, but with its mid-range luxury price tag, I decided to test the waters first with a more affordable option – a Polene Cyme Bag Dupe.

ENTER IN AMAZON.

After finding a coach tabby dupe on Amazon, my curiosity got the better of me as I reasoned and hoped for a Polene dupe on the site. Could there be a Polène dupe lurking on the site too? I couldn’t resist searching, and lo and behold, I stumbled upon a stunning look-alike of the Polène Cyme bag at a fraction of the price. It felt like a hidden gem — a chance to experience the bag’s unique style without the luxury cost.”

Polène Brand and History

Polène is a Paris-based leather goods brand known for its sleek, minimalist, and architectural designs. Founded in 2016 by siblings Antoine, Mathieu, and Elsa Mothay, Polène quickly rose to popularity with a focus on creating high-quality, modern bags at relatively affordable luxury prices. Their brand aesthetic centers around clean lines, neutral color palettes, and versatile silhouettes, making their bags ideal for the “It Girl” demographic — people who value both style and timelessness.

Polène gained considerable traction thanks to influencer collaborations and social media endorsements. By gifting bags to fashion influencers, they were able to generate organic buzz and credibility. The brand’s distinctively elegant and Instagram-worthy designs, paired with high-quality craftsmanship, appealed strongly to influencers’ followers, who were captivated by the brand’s effortless Parisian charm.

The Cyme Bag: The “It Girl” Bag

One of Polène’s standout bags is the Cyme, which is now considered an “It Girl” staple. This structured bag showcases Polène’s iconic architectural lines, a unique silhouette, and a polished, sophisticated vibe. The Cyme bag is crafted from Italian full-grain leather, which gives it a luxurious feel, and it’s available in several chic colors that suit any wardrobe.

The Cyme’s minimalist and functional design, coupled with its smooth, sculptural form, has made it a favorite among fashion-forward individuals. It’s versatile enough for both day and night use, offering spacious interiors and multiple compartments to keep belongings organized. Many reviewers praise the bag’s quality materials, design, and its ability to elevate any outfit. However, some find it on the heavier side, and as with many high-end bags, the price is a factor to consider.

Pricing and Opinions

The Cyme bag, like other Polène bags, is priced within the premium range, typically around $400-500. Many fans argue the quality and craftsmanship justify the cost, positioning it as a worthwhile investment in a timeless piece. Reviewers often commend the Cyme bag’s durability and thoughtful design details, noting how it holds its shape and ages well with time.

Finding a Dupe on Amazon

While the Amazon Polene Cyme Dupe may not offer the same premium leather quality or refined craftsmanship as the original, the dupe provides an accessible way to get a similar look without splurging

When it comes to timeless style, you don’t have to break the bank to make an impression. The Polène Cyme bag is undeniably elegant, but this $60 dupe offers a comparable look without the luxury price tag. Trying a more affordable option first allows you to see if the design suits your lifestyle and personal style. So if you’re drawn to the Cyme’s sculptural charm and versatility, consider starting with the dupe — an effortless way to add elegance to your wardrobe, all while keeping your budget in check.
