The Blog

I’ve been on a run with my gourmand fragrances. I’m usually a woodsy vanilla girl but I started experimenting with olfactive families last year when I purchased the viral THAT GIRL fragrance from Oakcha. I was also gifted the Maison Margiela Replica Afternoon Delight. Both of these are delicious fragrances.

However, I had to take a second to pause when I learned about Jo Malone’s Ginger Biscuit.

Now this?! The design is reminiscent of Rudolph’s Red nose which is so nostalgic. It has me ready to drop the coins. But let’s talk about the scent!

A cozy, spicy but still delectable gourmand fragrance. It sounds like Christmas in a bottle. With top notes of Ginger, heart note of Roasted Hazelnut and base note of Tonka Bean, I could just imagine what this scent smells like. I love ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon especially during the holidays. All of these notes blended with caramel, tonka bean, vanilla and woodsy tobacco?

This sounds like an irresistible dream.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this. For sure, this is going on the wishlist. But if you want to grab this before it sells out, it’s available for a limited time only. Grab yours here and thank me later.

Imagined by Francis Kurkdjian, Dior’s Perfume Creative Director, Miss Dior Essence is a powerful symbol of magnetic femininity. With its high concentration and radiant trail, the fragrance saturates the senses in color, weaving together gourmand and sensual accords.

Unexpected yet captivating, it opens with a luscious blackberry and elderflower accord that lifts a sumptuous jasmine bouquet. At its core, jasmine sambac blooms with sensual intensity, while a grounding base of rich, woody oak brings depth and sophistication.

This modern chypre is playful yet commanding — a fragrance that feels like a bold brushstroke across a floral canvas. With its jammy, floral, and woody layers, Miss Dior Essence speaks to a new generation of women: confident, daring, and unapologetically living life on their own terms.

Imagine a life where everyday products, scents, and environments that most people take for granted become sources of discomfort or even debilitating illness.

This is the reality for me and many others living with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), a condition characterized by extreme sensitivity to chemicals found in common household items, personal care products, and the environment.

Living with MCS requires a heightened awareness and a myriad of coping strategies to navigate a world filled with potential triggers.

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity is a chronic condition that affects individuals differently, but it often involves experiencing adverse reactions to low levels of chemicals that most people tolerate without issue.

These chemicals can be found in cleaning products, perfumes, air fresheners, pesticides, building materials, and even everyday items like scented candles or laundry detergents. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and may include headaches, dizziness, fatigue, respiratory problems, skin rashes, and cognitive difficulties.

I often find it necessary to create a safe and chemical-free living environment by using fragrance-free and non-toxic products, avoiding places with high chemical exposures, and implementing air filtration systems.

During my visit to the Olfactory NYC for Mother’s Day, I had the opportinity to create my own fragrance. It was hard to indulge in the full expeirence because I knew certain fragrances and notes would be a trigger for me so I stuck to my tried and true vanilla scent.

I have a select few fragrances I wear religiously including Dossier’s Ambery Saffron and Gourmand Blossom. It works for me because I can truly enjoy them without feeling sick, getting a headache or sneezing profusely.

I loved my experience because I could choose exactly what goes into my fragrance and how I want it to smell. I chose Riley as my base which had notes of Hazelnut and Musk. Then I chose Madagascar Vanilla and Sandalwood for the top notes. I didn’t have any adverse reactions, and it smells lovely!

Christian Siriano studied in London under the direction of fashion luminaries Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. He launched his career one year after winning season 4 of Project Runway, and is best known for luxury womenswear and statement red carpet moments for more than ten years.

This fragrance is the second fragrance in the Christian Siriano Silhouette line. Silhouette in Bloom is the sophisticated, feminine and elegant Christian Siriano vision of women translated into a flowerful fragrance and captures the radiant aura of a glamorous and stylish woman.

A floral woody fragrance, the top notes captivate with a confident and sparkling blend of crisp pear leaves, pink pepper and Italian mandarin, shedding light on a fragrance heart that glows from within.

The Master Perfumer, Honorine Blanc from Firmenich “was inspired by Christian Siriano’s couture fashion.

His designs are sophisticated, feminine, beautifully embellished, and make a dramatic statement that sets him apart from other designers.

I captured these elements in the construction of Evening Chic. “

The middle notes are alluring jasmine petals and precious jasmine sambac that mingle with noble rose for an undeniably feminine fragrance impression.

The base is glowing benzoin, mysterious patchouli and sensual woods which radiate warmth and wrap the fragrance in tempting sensuality like the unforgettable aura of this chic and sophisticated woman.

Blanc “added mysterious and sensual woods that make a statement and wrap the fragrance in drama and intrigue, similar to the emotions you feel when admiring his couture designs.”
